DAY 1 : Arrival at Kilimanjaro
Morning:
Pick up from Kilimanjaro airport, meet and greet, Transfer to Moshi, hotel check in.
Afternoon:
lunch, briefing about the climb. This is to help you check on whether you have the equipment required for the climb or not. Dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 2: Moshi hotel To Rongai
Morning:
Breakfast, camp check out, drive to the town of loitokitok on the lower side of kilimanjaro and trailhead 5 miles outside the town.
Climbers will start the climb passing through the tropical forest. It is a 5-6 hrs walk to simba camp at approx 2560m
Afternoon:
Arrival at simba camp in the early afternoon , lunch and the rest of the day will be used to rest and recheck your equipment. Dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 3 : Simba camp to kikelewa Moorland
Morning:
breakfast, camp check out, progress through the forest inevitably disputing the moorlands just below a large lava projection known as second cave. hotel check in.
Afternoon:
Take a luncheon, then enter through the open moorlands towards the spectacular peak of mawenzi, Kilimanjaro second peak rising.Reach Kikelewa shortly before reaching the saddle that connects mawenzi to kibo and Uhuru peak. It is a 5-6 hrs hike. Dinner and overnight stay
DAY 4 : Second Lava camp to Mawenzi Camp
Morning:
Breakfast, camp check out, mounting early climb steadfastly to craggy jugged peaks of Mawenzi, one of the volcanic peaks camp beneath Mawenzi at approx 4400m.
Afternoon:
Take a luncheon, Then the rest of the day is used to rest.
Dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 5 : Outward Bound Hut
Morning:
Breakfast, camp check out, trek to the outward bound hut approx 4750m for 4 hrs between the peaks of kibo and mawenzi. mountain vistas are wonderful as we emanate into the saddle between glacier covered kibo and rock crowned mawenzi
Afternoon:
Arrival by lunchtime at kibo hut, take luncheon, and have the afternoon to organize and rest up for the summit attempt. we will turn in early( since we will be arising at midnight)
DAY 6 : Kibo hut to Uhuru Peak then overnight at Horombo Hut
Morning to Afternoon
The climb start at midnight or one, where it is dark and cold and where you use touch for the first few hours. Rest and have coffee at Hans Meyers cave
Reach Gilman's point at dawn and see a spectacular sunrise as you stand above the clouds. Further walk ahead before to Uhuru peak. Descend down to Kibo and then to Horombo at 3720m for overnight.
DAY 7: Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate
MORNING to Afternoon:
Breakfast, After lunch proceed down to Marangu gate.( The descent is on Marangu route). then back to your hotel in moshi to have fun with the guides and the porter, dinner and overnight stay. Camp check out, Trek downward across the moorland and into the forest to Mandara for lunch.
DAY 8: Back to Kilimanjaro Airport
Morning to Afternoon:
Having taken breakfast, you will be transferred to Kilimanjaro Airport to await for your scheduled flight back home.
